Don't miss a bite of what's happening for women in the food world

THE SAN FRANCISCO PROJECT

THE BEST OF THE BAY AREA GATHER TO CELEBRATE #COOKGIRLGIVES

On April 21, 2015, leading chefs and up and comers from around the San Francisco area gathered at the newly opened MARLOWE BURGER to celebrate this city’s wealth of talent in the culinary arts and mark the launch of COOKGIRL FOUNDATION, the charitable arm of COOKGIRL that will provide grants to women in the culinary arts starting in 2016. There was a strong contingency from Oakland, including the fantastically charismatic Preeti Mistry from JUHU Beach Club and the immensely talented and community change-maker Tanya Holland from Brown Sugar Kitchen

It was a busy night in San Francisco, with the Giants playing the Los Angeles Dodgers right down the street at AT&T Park. With the famous Marlowe Burger on platters, it was a night to celebrate. Chef Jennifer Puccio put together a “best of” from the new Marlowe Burger Menu:

Fried Chicken Sliders
Mini Marlowe Burger
Prawns with boozy sauce
Deviled Eggs
Brussels Sprout Chips
Chicken Nuggets
Tartare Crostini
Little Gem Lettuce Cups

…and the evening ended with #dessertworthy deliciousness from Chief Pastry Officer Emily Luchetti:

Blondie Bars
Double Chocolate Cookies

It was a BIG NIGHT with the team from Big Night Group which includes Marlowe, Park Tavern and The Cavalier and is run by a team of talented women in the “Fempire” including Anna Weinberger (Owner/Managing Partner), Nicole Blakely (Chief Beverage Officer), Emily Luchetti and Jennifer Puccio.

Thank you to Stella Artois and big applause for your #BuyALadyADrink initiative to help women in developing countries get access to water for their families. This partnership with water.org is $1.2 million and growing.

Shout out to sponsor HandCraft Wines by Cheryl Indelicato. Katie Carpenter, Event Manager for Delicato Family Vineyards, was on hand to pour a delicious Pinot Grigio and Malbec. HandCraft Wines is led and founded by a third generation winery proprietor, Cheryl Indelicato. Cheryl was an RN, still maintains her license and lost her grandmother to breast cancer. As a result, Cheryl supports the Lynn Sage Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention with a portion of the proceeds from HandCraft Wines.
