Female Chefs of Chicago Support the Launch of COOKGIRL
On February 17, 2015, the leading women in Chicago’s culinary world gathered around the cooking island in Stephanie Izard’s private Little Goat Kitchen for the official launch of COOKGIRL.
It was just like a party with great friends, hanging out in the kitchen. Except your friends in this scenario own, operate and are chefs in the best kitchens in Chicago – and then throw in a few Michelin stars, James Beard Awards and Food & Wine Best New Chef honors. Yeah, those kind of super cool, incredibly interesting, well-traveled, spiritual, funny, talented friends.

The Chicago Project
Since we're based in Chicago, we're biased and launching with the Chicago Project. Through the end of February, COOKGIRL will interview the amazing women on THE LIST, asking them all to share their thoughts on what it means to be a female chef, how they manage the daily importance of health & balance and also what inspires them.
Each of the pros on our list are also eager to share their list of women who are doing amazing things in the culinary world. This list of rookies will be added to COOKGIRL, giving all of us a chance to experience what the chefs already know. There are so many people who deserve more attention.
In 2016, one of these nominated rookies will win a grant from the COOKGIRL fund that will be voted on by their chef fans.
Enjoy the windy city, where it might be cold outside but our chefs know how to throw down in the kitchen.
